چکیده

A recent analysis of Paleolithic signs have described which signs are more frequent and which are less frequent. In this paper, we show that this relative frequency can be (at least partially) explained by the symmetries of the signs: in general, the more symmetries, the more frequent the sign. 1 Different Paleolithic Signs Occur with Different Frequencies: Formulation of the Problem Interesting empirical fact. In a recent book [1], the author analyzes Paleolithic signs. In particular, in Chapter 16, she lists seven most frequent signs: • the most frequent sign is a set of parallel lines (P); • next in frequency are dots (D); • then the following signs are of approximately the same frequency: halfcircles (C), crosshatches (CH, see below), and finger fluting (F, see below); • even rarer are zigzags (Z); • finally, the least frequent of the seven symbols are spirals (S). Does a cell protein explain Covid-19 severity

Does a protein on the surface of some of our cells explain why certain people are more at risk from covid-19? The coronavirus attaches to a receptor protein on the surface(ACE) of our cells to gain entry to them. The protein is carried by cells in the nose, lungs and gut. It is possible that variation in how much of this protein people have may help explain why some are more likely to die from ...

Re-evaluation of Scrapers Reduction Model Using Geometric Index of Reduction (Mar-Tarik Middle Paleolithic Assemblages)

Paleolithic lithic assemblages are traditionally described on the bases of presence of a variety of tool types(typology) and of different knapping technologies. In this study we tried to investigate whether the presence ofdifferent groups of scrapers in the Mar-Tarik site assigned to the Middle Paleolithic represent specific function orjust different stages of the reduction process and constant...

The Symmetries of Equivalent Lagrangian Systems and Constants of Motion

In this paper Mathematical structure of time-dependent Lagrangian systems and their symmetries are extended and the explicit relation between constants of motion and infinitesimal symmetries of time-dependent Lagrangian systems are considered. Starting point is time-independent Lagrangian systems ,then we extend mathematical concepts of these systems such as equivalent lagrangian systems to th...

Quaternary Deposits and the Paleolithic Sites on the Northern Edge of Iranian Central Desert: Introduction of the Newly-found Paleolithic Sites of Shour-e Qazi and Sar-Darreh

The northern fringes of the Iranian Central Desert (NICD) is a long corridor created due to the proximity of the Alborz Mountains to the north and the Central Desert to the south. For the first time, one of the present authors (HVN) highlighted the importance of the NICD as one of the routes for the dispersal of human populations from Africa to East Asia during Pleistocene epoch. In recent year...
